A FRAGMENTED QUARANTINE DREAM A FRAGMENTED QUARANTINE DREAM offers a glimpse of a rural Colorado town during Covid-19 quarantine March 2020. This was one night in the life of my quarantine in a small town nestled in mountains when every single business was closed and the streets sat empty. This was filmed at the very beginning stages of quarantine when I had the bittersweet feeling of delight and a fantastical sense of disbelief in an empty town.&nbsp; There are two versions of this piece filmed on the same night on a full moon on Elk Avenue in Crested Butte. This is the light, magical ""feel-good"" perspective that suspends reality and the weight of the circumstances at hand.&nbsp; Part 2: Warped: Covid Time explores the shadow side of the same exact time period of the global pandemic expressing the energy of anxiety, fear, masks and business closures. Inspired by the light of the full moon on empty streets, Collaborator/Cinematographer Trevor Main captured these improvised, spontaneous movement pieces created on site, during a very specific time and place in Crested Butte's history of the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to playing as a part of Narrative Shorts Program 1, A FRAGMENTED QUARANTINE DREAM will play in front of HIGH COUNTRY and OUT LOUD. ﻿Director BioFilmmaker Sasha Chudacoff used the Covid-19 lockdown to tackle the damage plastics do to our planet in the best way she can: through dance.&nbsp;

A night in the life of Quarantine 2020 was captured. A tiny destination ski town, nestled in mountains had completely shut down. All businesses closed; the streets sat empty. During this initial stage of global pandemic, much was unknown. There is a bittersweet feeling of delight and fantastical sense of disbelief. In this suspended reality, I danced.

LANCE (IN A NECK BRACE) After a devastating breakup, Lance listens to instructional cassette tapes on how to heal his broken heart. Director BioChloé Aktas is a director, actress, and writer originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. She received her BFA from the Kanbar Institute of Film and TV at New York University Tisch School of the Arts in 2015. She is a 2016 Student Academy Award finalist and has a recurring acting role on AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Director BioHALLIE COOPER-NOVACK is a writer/director born and raised in New York City. Her short film "Relations" starring Kate Lyn Sheil and Hunter Parrish has shown at the Ashland Independent Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival, deadCenter Film Festival, NewFilmmakers LA, St. Louis International Film Festival, and Bully City Film Festival, and made its online premiere on NoBudge. The music video she directed for MGMT’s “When You Die” starring Alex Karpovsky premiered on The New Yorker, and has over 17 million views on YouTube. Her previous film, "Jagoo," featured Greta Gerwig, and showed in the Manhattan Film Festival. In 2018, Hallie did research to support Lupita Nyong'o's acclaimed performance in Jordan Peele's "Us." She has a BA in Film Studies from Wesleyan University and an MFA in acting from the Yale School of Drama. Before she stopped acting, she was on “The Good Wife”, “Law &amp; Order: SVU” and “Law &amp; Order: CI”, among many other appearances. In 2014, she was a contestant on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,” where she won $55k. She currently works for Jason Katims, accomplished executive producer and show runner of “Friday Night Lights” and “Parenthood.”She lives on the East Side of LA with her cinematographer partner, Steven, and their photogenic dog, Ice."

Director BioWill Kindrick is a filmmaker and artist based in Los Angeles. After beginning his career in music videos and on the television series Yo Gabba Gabba, he's directed films for artists including Ice Cube, Kaskade, NeonTrees, and She &amp; Him. He's known for his unique blend of whimsical worlds and emotional storytelling.

Director BioAshley Williams has worked as an actress in TV, film, and theater since she was eleven. Credits include: Jim Gaffigan Show, A Most Violent Year, Something Borrowed, Margin Call, How I Met Your Mother, a dozen TV movies, and one Broadway flop. In addition to Meats, Ashley wrote/stars in Stud Boob with her sister, Kimberly Williams-Paisley. Ashley shadowed directors Seth Gordon, Michael Nankin, and Pamela Fryman. She’s currently prepping her first feature film.

HUMAN In a stunning aerial dance film filmed in Salida, Colorado, a woman suffering in isolation gets a taste of the spotlight. With the world below her, she’s free to express herself through movement. In addition to playing as a part of Narrative Shorts Program 3, HUMAN will play in front of BURDEN and SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT Director BioErin Brown Thomas is a dynamic director, writer, producer, and editor who's collaborated with heavyweight talent including Selena Gomez, Eminem, Tony Hale, Lena Dunham, Emmy Rossum, and Elisabeth Moss and tentpole companies such as HBO, Netflix, Refinery 29, A Casual Romance, MTV, Snapchat Originals, and Makeready. Her films have received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and have been curated by Vimeo.&nbsp; Erin has directed over a dozen award-winning films which have screened in 92 festivals worldwide, including 14 Oscar Qualifying events. Most recently, the experimental "But First" placed her as an Artist in Residence at Palm Springs International ShortFest. She was also selected to participate in the DGA's esteemed Commercial Directors Diversity Program. Erin’s screenplays have advanced at Sundance New Voices, the Academy’s Nichol Fellowship, Austin Film Fest, and Blue Cat Screenplay competition. Her pilot “Managing Life” was enacted via UCB's selective “Let’s Table This” lab. Erin is in pre-production for her lauded original screenplay Italy ’99.&nbsp; When not on set, Erin dangles from the air as an aerial acrobat. Thus, she also founded a viral-hit prod. company, Versatile Assassins which tells complex stories about the human experience through aerial dance. Her youtube has quickly amassed 53k subscribers and over 6M views. Erin co-founded Salute Your Shorts Film Festival in 2017 with Becky Murdoch.&nbsp;Curation has deeply impacted her curiosity and voice as an artist."

BABY KATE In this film, written, directed, produced and starring CBFF alumna, Jennifer Lafleur, Rebecca and David meet one last time to finalize their divorce but are unable to avoid the minefield of grief that hangs between them. Director BioBABY KATE marks Lafleur's first time writing and directing for film. She has worked as an actor in film since Jay Duplass saw her in a play in NYC and cast her in a small role in their film BAGHEAD in 2008. She has gone on to collaborate quite a bit with the Duplass Brothers (Do-Deca-Pentathlon, Jeff Who Lives At Home, Wedlock, Room 104) and to expand her work into television (Big Little Lies, Friends From College, The Good Doctor, American Crime) as well as continuing to work on indie films like LAMB by Ross Partridge, Sarah Adina Smith's THE MIDNIGHT SWIM, and Amber Sealey's NO LIGHT AND NO LAND ANYWHERE.

UNDER THE LIGHTS Sam is a boy with epilepsy, so desperate to feel like a regular kid, he goes to prom knowing that the lights will make him have a seizure. Director BioMiles Levin is a filmmaker who hails from Santa Rosa, CA. His work has been seen in festivals all over the world including Sedona Film Festival and Rhode Island International Film Festival. His 9th and most recent film, ‘Under the Lights’ is a very personal expression of his experience having epilepsy. Despite affecting 3.5 million in the U.S. alone, epilepsy is almost never seen on screen, and faces a brutal stigma. Peers have been ejected from friend groups and even families just for having the condition. Miles believes that in an age of new voices in film, ‘Under the Lights’ stands to begin a conversation about epilepsy in cinema, and bring to light a very large but invisible voice in our community. Miles is currently in development on a feature version of ‘Under the Lights’."

Made by epileptic filmmaker Miles Levin, this film serves to be one of the first authentic, empathetic depictions of epilepsy in cinema: an effort to represent an invisible demographic of 1 in 26 people who suffer from brutal stigma every day.

IN THE STILL NIGHT Matthew Hyla, an American art curator staying in a traditional hotel in Tokyo, is organizing an exhibition to display the work of young photographers. Hurt and distracted by a recent breakup, and left disorientated by his very limited understanding of Japanese, Matthew gets lost in a labyrinth of corridors lined with Japanese masterpieces. Now on his own, he wanders brokenhearted through this maze and allows himself to be carried away by daydreams. That is, until he has a surreal encounter. Director BioJean-Baptiste Braud (1986) is a French director based between France, Japan and the US. His work is the result of this perpetual journey that aims to combine visions and cultures from various horizons to tell different stories. In the Still Night is his first short film. He is currently making his second one in Japan, in Koyasan.

On a misty night cows escape, a child is chosen, and a teenager tries to find freedom. In Spanish with English subtitles. Director BioAgustina San Martín was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1991. She studied filmmaking at University of Buenos Aires, where she later worked as a screenwriting professor. She is also a director of photography and colorist. Agustina also worked as DoP in films like The Future Perfect (2016), from German director Nele Wohlatz (Best First Feature at Locarno) and short films like “Héctor” from Chilean director Victoria Giesen, which premiered at the Official Competition of the 69th Berlinale Film Festival. Agustina directed her first short film “The cry of the oxen” (2015) which premiered at the Festival de Cartagena and took part of the Mar del Plata Film Festival. It won best short at FICIC, Festival de Cine del Desierto in Mexico and won INCAA TV. It was nominated for the Premios Cóndor. In 2017, “Swedish Cousin”, Agustina’s second short film, premiered in the 67th Berlinale Film Festival and won First Prize in BAFICI, Best short at the Festival de Cine de Huelva, Best LGBT short film at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Ciudad de Mexico. It had a broad festival tour, as part of the official selection at VLAFF, Zinebi, Panoramic Stockholm Latinoamerican Film Festival and Queer Lisboa. In 2019 Agustina premiered her third short film, “Monster God” at the Cannes Film Festival in the Short Film Official Competition and won the Jury Prize with President Jury Claire Denis. Later making a festival tour which included the prize Golden Camera 300 at the Manaki Brothers Festival and toured between festivals like AFI Fest, La Habana, Curtacinema Río, El Gouna among others. “Matar a la bestia”, her feature film, participated in the Script Station of the 66º Berlinale Talents 2016. With it, she was part of BAFICI BAL, Bolivia Lab and Los Residentes in Paraguay. It also competed in La Habana Film Festival Script Competition. It is a was shot in the border between Argentina and Brazil. She was invited by Franz Rodenkirchen to be a part of the Three Rivers residency to develop a second film. In 2020, she participated in Cinemart with it. In 2020, Agustina was selected to participate in the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative to be the alumni of the director, composer, actor and Broadway talent, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
