The Catalyst - In 2015, Steve and Tracy Hennigan purchased a home with a plan to renovate the property to be the most sustainable and energy-efficient home imaginable. They wanted to capture the earth's natural resources (sun, rain, and geothermal) and prove that modern comforts and smart investments don’t have to come at the expense of the environment.

Solar For All - The District’s Solar for All program is one of the most progressive solar mandates in the United States, with a goal of providing 100,000 low-to-moderate income families with lower energy costs through solar. Solar For All explores how the District is using innovation and equitable access to local, clean energy to lower the energy burden for the city's most vulnerable residents and protect underserved communities in the face of our changing climate.

A Moment in the Sun - In the early days of solar vehicle racing one of the most unlikely competitors was a Turkish nuclear physicist living in Australia named Ugur Ortabasi. He designed a four-seated solar powered tandem bicycle only a mother could love but in true underdog fashion it would go on to win the 1986 World Championships of Solar Vehicles.
