The Dukha
In the remote taiga of northern Mongolia live the Dukha, one of the last groups of nomadic reindeer herders in the world. Tuvshuu is five years old. He and his sisters help with their family's herd at the summer camp. Their way of life and knowledge of reindeer has been passed down for millennia, just as the shamanic myths surrounding their culture. With less than 40 Dukha families left in the world, Tuvshuu will have some big decisions ahead.

The Katie Adamson Conservation Fund is a Denver-based conservation organization. It was established in 2014 by Denver zookeeper Dave Johnson after we lost a dear friend and conservation ally, Katie Adamson, in her battle with cancer. Since that day we have been dedicated to a global mission of wildlife protection and cultural compassion. As a powerful group of all ages and mindsets, we want to leave this world a better place for those that follow. The species we share this planet with deserve protection and dedication, and together we are doing everything we can to ensure they have a place and a voice. This short documentary presents an overview of our work in Nepal and how we have engaged local communities to help save the endangered species there.
