For decades Alabamians have “thanked God for Mississippi”, but that sentiment ends when we consider our right to choose our own sources of electricity. A few simple policy changes could remove existing barriers and voilà! Alabamians could have more options when it comes to where their electricity comes from. It’s time to stop taxing the sun and fight for Energy Freedom!

In this short documentary, Gen Z'ers from around the globe talk about how climate change affects their mental health, life choices, & their visions for the future. The Gen Z'ers featured in this documentary are climate ambassadors in their community, fighting against the government for their rights and finding joy through community action. They deal with the duality of feeling young and sometimes powerless, whilst being empowered by community action and the chance for real change. These young people share about their tools for emotional resilience in the face of climate change and the power of stories to deal with climate anxiety.

Gen Z Mental Health: Climate Stories

Perspectives from Gen Z’ers across the globe, focusing on the spectrum of climate emotions and the ways in which emotional resilience can be found through direct collective action.

The Last Seed focuses on broad themes relating to the state of food and agriculture in Africa in the 21st century. Placing the struggle over the control of seed at the centre, it explains the processes that have led to this moment in human history and what it would take to interact with the planet in a way that does not threaten the very basis of life on earth. The film raises two fundamental questions - what have we lost, and who can show us a better way? - and attempts to answer these questions using music, dance, moving visuals and the lived experiences and stories of African small-scale food producers. Experts outline the extent of the corporate capture crisis, explaining the underlying science, politics and economics in simple terms, punctuated by vibrant animations. Agroecological farmers from various African nations give testimony on the sustainability and adaptability of their agricultural practices and share morsels of wisdom worth exploring. The film ends on an upbeat note as Senegalese women rise up, determined to protect their seeds and indigenous knowledge for future generations.

The Last Seed

Placing the struggle over the control of seed at the center, unearth the state of food and agriculture in Africa and the processes that have led to this moment in human history.

Inspired to amplify the urgent call-to-action by climate activists, a small group of makers set their minds to creating an artwork that could not be ignored. The result is an extraordinary 4-metre-tall Burning Koala animatronic puppet. This short film captures the koala's maiden outing, a funeral march for the 3 billion animals lost in the Black Summer bushfires. Accompanied by the haunting presence of Extinction Rebellion's Red Rebels, the Burning Koala brought passers-by into a state of shock and mourning, as it made its way along the St. Kilda beach in Boon Wurrung country.

Polar bears are losing their homes. Climate change is melting Arctic sea ice that polar bears depend on for survival. This film takes a new approach in depicting wild animals in hopes to evoke empathy out of familiarity and being human.
