Ocean conservation group WILDCOAST has made massive waves of impact conserving coastlines, coral reefs, wetlands, whale breeding lagoons, underwater parks and more. In this short film, we watch the story of sea turtle conservation success as WILDCOAST helps protect 22.5 miles of coastline in Oaxaca, Mexico -- the most important olive ridley sea turtle nesting beaches in the world. After near extinction, 72 million sea turtle hatchlings have been born on these beaches since 2017. Witness an arribada, a mass nesting, where tens of thousands of female sea turtles swim thousands of miles to return to the place of their birthright. It’s a miracle to behold. This short film shows how a small dedicated group of people can collaborate to make a massive impact. Founded in 2000, WILDCOAST helps conserve 38 million acres of coastal and ocean habitats, coral reefs, sea turtle nesting beaches, mangrove forests, wetlands and whale breeding lagoons in Mexico and California. GoPro For A Cause and Kind Humans partnered with WILDCOAST to create The Sea Turtle Arribada, a stunning short film that tells the story of WILDCOAST’s sea turtle conservation in Oaxaca, Mexico.
