Knowing that another world is possible, individuals young and old share their hopes and dreams for the future. Kelly Gallagher is a filmmaker, animator, and Assistant Professor of Film at Syracuse University. Her award-winning films and commissioned animations have screened internationally at venues including: the Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art, Sundance Film Festival, the Smithsonian Institution, Anthology Film Archives, and International Film Festival Rotterdam. Her most recent animations have also screened on Netflix and PBS. She’s presented solo programs of her work at institutions including: SFMOMA, Close-Up Cinema London, SF Cinematheque, and Wexner Center for the Arts. Kelly enthusiastically organizes and facilitates fun and inclusive film workshops, camps, and masterclasses for communities and groups of all ages, from Kentucky to California, from New York to Iowa and beyond.

FEMME is a short dance-film art installation focused on and inspired by Latin American women in South Florida who in some way have felt oppressed by their social circumstances. The film explores the human condition and translates them into movements, creating a new language to express their thoughts, desires, emotions and hopes. Director's Bio:Carla Forte lives and works in Miami, Florida. Forte, as&nbsp;first&nbsp;trained as a contemporary dancer, received a bachelor degree, earning the highest GPA at Dance University Institute in Caracas - Venezuela (2000-2004). Forte soon established herself as an interdisciplinary artist incorporating dance, film and performance through different media, focusing on the emotions as a starting point. She&nbsp;is the co-founder and film director of Bistoury Physical Theatre and Film (2007 - Present) in Miami, Florida.&nbsp;Her feature films and experimental pieces have been screened at prominent festivals such as:&nbsp;​74&nbsp;"Festival Internazionale del Cinema di Salerno'' (2021),&nbsp;“62nd&nbsp;Rochester&nbsp;International Film Festival'' (2020),&nbsp;37th “Miami Film Festival'' (2020), “41st Atlanta Film Festival'' (2017). She has also been featured in Galleries including: “OGA VideoArt Exhibitions Roma, Italy (2018); Cube Art Project Lincoln,&nbsp;Nebraska. (2017) and Les Instants Vidéo Marseille, France (2014).&nbsp;Her works have been acquired by Gravitas Adventures, South Florida PBS and Troma Entertainment.&nbsp;Forte has won&nbsp;commissions, awards and artistic residencies from prestigious programs such as: South Florida Cultural Consortium (2021), 66th Flaherty Seminar (2021), Dance Miami Choreographers (2020);&nbsp;Knight Arts Challenge Miami (2019); En Residencia Koubek Center (2019); FONLAD Residency Program Coimbra- Portugal (2018); Berlinale Talent Berlin (2017) among others.

The Backside of God is an experimental documentary that explores the life and death of the filmmaker's late uncle, Doug Seidel. Doug was a devout Christian and pastor from rural Pennsylvania. The film ruminates on the intersection of familial, religious, and queer identity. The piece centers on the tensions between the artist’s queer identity and Uncle’s rejection of his. Can you love someone who ultimately believes your existence is immoral? Director Bio:Hogan Seidel is an artist working with the analog film and sculpture working in the traditions of experimental film, found footage, photochemical abstraction, direct animation, and collage.&nbsp;Their work has been screened at festivals such as Alchemy, Analogica, Indie Grits, ULTRA Cinema, Revolutions Per Minute, Artifact, Fracto Experimental, and PRISME.&nbsp; Seidel teaches analog and interactive media as affiliated faculty at Emerson College and the University of Massachusetts Lowell. They are currently at the Harvard Graduate School of Education researching arts education and the impacts of classism and other oppressive structures in U.S. higher education.

RADICAL CARE looks at the Auntie Sewing Squad, a group of mostly women of color volunteers who sew and donate facemasks to vulnerable communities in the US during the COVID-19 pandemic. Director Bio:Valerie Soe is a writer and experimental videomaker living and working in San Francisco whose productions include&nbsp;Mixed Blood, Picturing Oriental Girls: A (Re) Educational Videotape,&nbsp;(Best Bay Area Short, Golden Gate Awards, San Francisco International Film Festival) and ALL ORIENTALS LOOK THE SAME (Best Foreign Video, Festival Internazionale Cinema Giovani; First Place, Experimental Category, Visions of U.S. Festival). Other awards include a James D. Phelan Art Award in Video, a 1994 Cultural Equity Grant from the San Francisco Art Commission, a 1994 Art Matters Fellowship, and a 1992 Rockefeller Foundation Intercultural Film/Video Fellowship. Her most recent video,&nbsp;BEYOND ASIAPHILIA,&nbsp;is an experimental video that looks at miscegenation, lust and Asian masculinity from a personal perspective, as filtered through the lens of Hong Kong movies. Soe also writes art criticism and has been published in&nbsp;Afterimage,&nbsp;High Performance, Cinematograph&nbsp;and&nbsp;The Independent,&nbsp;among others. She curated the exhibition&nbsp;Girl To Woman: Stories For The New Feminism&nbsp;at the University of California, Irvine's Fine Arts Gallery and has programmed several shows at Artists' Television Access and the San Francisco Cinematheque on teen videomakers. She is also on the Board of Directors for Film Arts Foundation and is a founding member of X-Factor, an experimental film and videomaker coalition. She chairs the Film/Video program at the California State Summer School for the Arts and is on faculty at San Francisco State University's Asian American Studies Department.
