After graduation, Jay reluctantly returns home to reunite with his father, from who he has grown apart. After a long day of exploration in the old house that he does not recall, Jay recollects pieces of memories from his parents' old collections and photos that prove his father's love for him. Director Bio:Hsuan-Wei Wu (Jackson) is a Taiwanese Christian filmmaker, an MFA film graduate at City College of New York, and the BAFTA NY 2020 Scholarship recipient. His short film“The Angel in The Globe” has won multiple awards and has screened in numerous film festivals all around the States. Hsuan-Wei focuses on making films about Asian Cul¬ture, gospels, and human connections. Director Statement:In a Taiwanese family, conflicts do not necessarily come from verbal arguments or physicalassaults but lack communication or the inability to express oneself verbally. Asian people tend tobe more introverted and not knowing how to say the line “I Love You.”In this film, I’m going to depict the core of traditional Taiwanese family and how people alsoexpress love when not saying it. Parents like to preach about what they did for their children’s good; however, a misunderstandingmakes the most lethal weapon and eventually contaminates the intended affection. It is likecommunicating with someone that speaks a different language. In this film, I want to depict the core Chinese culture and family discipline. Family is an essentialpart of Chinese culture, but when there are conflicts between the family members, how peopleresolve the issue and together to make the family a shelter and a much better place. As the maincharacter Jay, I always know that my father loves me and will always love me, but there werestill conflicts between my father and me. Even though I have already been through so manydepressing states in my family, I continue struggling to learn and understand my father’s way ofloving people.

Director Bio:Svetlana Belorussova — anthropologist, filmmaker. For about ten years she has been conducting ethnographic expeditions among the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan - Chukchi, Nenets, Khanty, Tatars, Kryashen, Nagaibaks, Kazakhs. In 2017, she defended PhD thesis “Dynamics of the Ethnicity of Nagaibaks in the 18th – 21st сenturies”. Since 2018 — researcher at the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Kunstkamera), associate professor of the Higher School of Economics (St. Petersburg). Since 2019, she is a student at the St. Petersburg School of New Cinema (Laboratory of Documentary and Feature Films). A teenage girl wants to get a divorce and has gone to the Iranian Forensic Medicine Department to get a certificate to remove her husband's name from her birth certificate. There, her mother, a traditional woman, objects the presence of a number of interns to attend her daughter's virginity examination. Director Bio: Amin Anari holds the first rank of the entrance exam for the Master of Cinema in Iran 2017, is a Master student of cinema at Tehran university, and holds a film degree from the Iranian Youth Cinema Association (IYCS).Filmography: Live Me 2013; It's Autumn 2017; Shadow of Our Forgotten Ancestors 2018 (doc); Contusion 2021 Director Statement:Being a woman in traditional and patriarchal societies such as Iranian society means a constant and hidden experience of violence. My short film "Contusion 2021" is a small homage to the noble women of this ancient land. Hoping for the day when we properly honor her position and love her as she is.

CONTUSION

A woman refuses to let interns attend her daughter's virginity examination.

The film tells the story of Hera, a 35 year-old woman. Her home is her world and her world is magical. Her loneliness is filled with objects. She forgets herself in her daily routine and gets tangled in her made-up micro worlds. Her difficulty to cope with social gender norms and an awkward encounter with a jeweler, lead her to buy a wedding ring. The ring gives life to an imaginary relationship, fleeting like a dream. As the relationship comes to an end, Hera goes back to her everyday life. Director Bio: Anthie Daoutaki was born in Athens, where she resides to this day. She graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts in 2016 and has been experimenting with cinematography ever since. She studied Film Direction in the Metropolitan College of Athens and upon graduating she had already made her first short film. As an artist, she has taken part in several exhibitions in Greece and abroad. In 2019 she was awarded the Artworks Fellows award by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
