A Sacred Space
As children, there is one space that is truly ours. It not only reflects chapters of the story of our growing up, but ages with us as we become adults, until we eventually leave it behind. Here is a documentation of my room and how it grew up with me.
Soulmate
In a world where giving up on love shrinks your body, a lonely protagonist searches for his destined partner. Repeatedly abandoned, he becomes nearly invisible—until he meets a girl even smaller than him. She gives everything for him, and he, in turn, gives everything for her. This is a hand-drawn traditional animation created directly from storyboards.

Three people visit a temple and summon Yoruba traditional Gods (Orishas) using traditional rituals involving dance and music. When these rituals are changed and Westernized, they lose their ability to connect with the Gods.

As a refugee tries to hang frames that carry pieces of his past, he confronts the silence of a space not made for permanence, until a simple act rooted in love begins to shape a new kind of home.

A hungry fish searches for food in its aquarium, but its world is suddenly disrupted when it is struck by something unexpected.
REM-Slaap
REM sleep" explores the human condition, particularly that in the Middle East, where themes of suffering, war and death are daily realities. The film is based on my dreams and personal experiences as a Syrian refugee.

Between the fine weave of society and its human experience is emphasized upon the formation of a value system- the whole power must be spent on between the individual and society for shared life. Thus, the very central idea revolves around invisible threads-meaning belief systems and institutional structures-that tie people with others. The film ends by exploring the concept of inner power and self-awareness.
