EXPLORATION FILM: Explore the traditions of love! We are excited to present three episodes from this German documentary series. British-German television presenter Charlotte Roche tours the world to find out how love is lived, celebrated, and ritualized. In each locale, she gets a truly insider’s view on local variations and conceptions of courtship and of love.&nbsp;

Love Rituals: On The Orkney Islands: Charlotte ventures to the Orkney Islands, an archipelago of 70 islands off the northern coast of Scotland to learn about the influence of the fairy folk, legends which enrich the locals in all matters of love. There may be drinking involved.

Love Rituals: In India: Charlotte looks for an answer to the interplay between love and marriage. Is marriage a prison or an empowerment? In Indian society, this is not easy to answer. Differing aspects of romantic versus practical marriage are explored, but all the encounters ultimately reveal an overall picture of Indian love rituals.

Love Rituals: In Kenya: Observe the fascinating interplay when a Kenyan woman takes her American fiancé and his family to meet her family back in her home village. At the center of this episode is the much-discussed topic of money and love in Kenyan relationships. Charlotte has candid and eye-opening conversations with local women who eagerly open up to her on the taboo topic.
