In these joyful, creative films, you’ll see young people whose creativity cannot be dimmed by a global pandemic, and learn how their resilience — and yours — can overcome any foe. In spite of great barriers, these films were also brought to life by dedicated educators and filmmakers.

For ages 9+

Total running time: 89 min.

The Effects tells the story of Rosa, a teenager who is forced to make a difficult decision when her hard-working Guatemalan father Hector is threatened with deportation.

Written by 16-year-old Rosemary Gramajo Quiñones, The Effects was made possible by Art of Me's "What is Power & Community?" story contest; Rosemary's winning story was filmed in her Cleveland community.
