This collection of animated and live-action films explore the beauty of our Earth and emphasize the importance of taking care of our natural home.
To accommodate evolving public health recommendations regarding COVID-19, we are adopting a hybrid virtual-and-in-person festival model for CFFS 2022. VIRTUAL, IN-PERSON, and HYBRID (virtual AND in-person) Festival Passes are available here.
⚠️ For the sake of public safety, NWFF patrons ages 5+ will be required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination and to double-mask while in the building. Disposable masks are available at the door for those who need them. ⚠️
NWFF is adapting to evolving recommendations to protect the public from COVID-19. Read more about their policies regarding cleaning, masks, and capacity limitations here. We reserve the option to shift the festival to virtual-only on short notice.
Ocean health is indispensable to human survival, yet many people are unaware of the importance of ocean creatures and how to protect them. This is partly because we don’t really see them every day; out of sight, out of mind. Sea creatures are often just lunch, dinner, or an ingredient in cosmetics.
Young scuba diver Ema Poposka believes that seeing the beauty of oceans and coral firsthand has the power to change people's minds about sea protection. This inspired her to join Action for a Cause to produce a documentary film about Hong Kong corals. Joined by a documentary crew of 12- to 15-year-old students, Ema’s aim with her film is to raise awareness about how unique Hong Kong corals are, how much we need to start taking care of them, and how we can do that in our everyday lives.
