Step into the shoes of these different characters from around the globe! From a nomadic reindeer herder to an independent Sudanese teen, these kids' stories will give you a glimpse into new perspectives.

To accommodate evolving public health recommendations regarding COVID-19, we are adopting a hybrid virtual-and-in-person festival model for CFFS 2022. VIRTUAL, IN-PERSON, and HYBRID (virtual AND in-person) Festival Passes are available here.

⚠️ For the sake of public safety, NWFF patrons ages 5+ will be required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination and to double-mask while in the building. Disposable masks are available at the door for those who need them. ⚠️

NWFF is adapting to evolving recommendations to protect the public from COVID-19. Read more about their policies regarding cleaning, masks, and capacity limitations here. We reserve the option to shift the festival to virtual-only on short notice.

In one of the world's coldest climates, a heartwarming story is taking shape.

Ellesmere, a fit and instantly lovable Canadian Inuit yearling sled dog, is setting off on her first training expedition and rite of passage. With the right experience and discipline, Ellesmere has the potential to be the next alpha female. She must learn the survival skills from the matriarchs that came before her in order not only to earn, but to defend her position in the dog pack. Running on the Great Slave Lake is no easy task. Along with her musher and pack, Ellesmere must navigate strong winds, snowstorms and pack dynamics. Whatever happens, Ellesmere will find that every dog has a place in the pack.
