Generation Impact: The Coder
Jay Jay Patton was only 13 when she designed and built Photo Patch, a mobile app to help kids send photos and letters to parents who are incarcerated. The app was inspired by Jay Jay’s own experience; her dad was in prison for five years and it was difficult to communicate with him as much as she wanted.

Our Days in Dongshi
Dongshi is a coastal township in Taiwan, famous for its fresh fish and sweet, fat oysters. Local children learn to be independent from an early age, not only cooking for themselves, but also helping their parents out, only enjoying themselves after work is done. They love riding around together on their bicycles and sometimes play by the embankment, watching the sunset and enjoying the rare leisure time.

Rocks 4 Sale!
A slice-of-life look at how kids in the former mining town of Silverton, Colorado stay busy in the summer by “mining” and selling rocks to tourists. Through this time-honored rite of passage, these “rock stars” learn history, social skills, and become little entrepreneurs.

Abby
Cerebral palsy keeps Abby's body and speaking voice from working as she'd like them to. She has a profound love for all animals, however, and dedicates herself to nonverbally training and communicating with dogs. Abby's animals understand her well; better, in fact, than many people.

Kids can do anything! In this block, watch kids innocently and mischievously sell rocks, brilliantly code, navigate disabilities and so much more, all with a beaming happiness that lights up the world around them.


This program will also screen in person at NWFF on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 12:30pm! VIRTUAL, IN-PERSON, and HYBRID (virtual AND in-person) Festival Passes are available.
