Sek Buy - The Ritual to the Sun (El Ritual al Sol)
Every June, the Nasa people of Southern Colombia celebrate the beginning of the solar year with Sek Buy, a ritual to the Sun. In this gorgeously animated film, a 10-year-old Nasa girl named Aurora discovers how this sacred calendar keeps her people in harmony with Mother Earth. As Aurora goes on an unexpected journey with deities and wise men alike, she explores her culture with pride and joy.

Miyawata is a 15-year old Indigenous activist from Winnipeg, Canada, who never hesitates speak up for what she believes in. She’s on a mission to help Indigenous voices be heard and included, and she’s the very first organizer of school strikes for the climate in her hometown.

This collection of documentary and narrative shorts showcases different Indigenous stories from around the world. From climate activism to following the portage routes of their ancestors, the kids and characters in these stories are sure to inspire you!
