From the perspective of people who live in Complexo do Alemão, the largest favela in Rio de Janeiro, OUR RIGHT TO DREAM (75') exposes how the absence of the Brazilian government, violence, racism and difficult access to education and culture affect lives and dreams of children and young people and what alternatives they create to overcome these challenges. In testimonies, residents show an enormous awareness towards the importance of confronting racism and fighting for their rights as citizens, revealing children, artists, activists, solo mothers, and agents of resistance who are seen, at best, as inferior to outsiders and, at worst, as enemies.
