Searching for and exploring one’s identity is not limited to adulthood. In this collection of shorts, we see humans and spirits alike expressing who they truly are.

Join these gender pioneers as they look to take back their identity. One film reveals the healing power of four mysterious stones on Waikiki Beach – which hold legendary nonbinary spirits within them. Narrated in an ancient Hawaiian dialect, this award-winning film brings this powerful legend back to life in vivid animation. Another short tells an emotionally compelling story of an articulate girl who is thoughtfully defining her future while surrounded by a family and community who show her unconditional love. In the last short, Skylar faces the complexities of being a transgender girl on the cusp of puberty with refreshing honesty and unshakable dignity.

Themes: Taking back gender narratives from GLBTQIA youth perspective.

Language: This program is presented in English, Nonverbal and Olelo Niihau with English subtitles.
