Generation Impact: The Coder

Jay Jay Patton was only thirteen-years-old when she created Photo Patch, a mobile app designed for children to send letters and photos to incarcerated parents. The inspiration for this app came from her own experiences with her father who was in prison for five years, making it difficult for them to communicate with each other. Jay Jay's inspiring story, along with the coding classes she now teaches, enables young people of color to pursue their dream of having a career in STEM.
