Me. My eleven years. WAR.

This film is best described in the director's own words: "In my country there is a war with the Russian occupiers. This war is very terrible. It started when I was 4 years old. In 2014, the Russians stole the South of Ukraine - Crimea and the East of Ukraine. I was in Crimea for the last time in 2013. It's very beautiful there! There is a sea and wonderful mountains. And also the local people - the Crimean Tatars cook delicious food and speak Ukrainian. I remember this!

On February 24th, 2022, the Russians wanted to steal even more territories. For the first few months we lived in a daze. Bucha, Vorzel, Irpen, Gostomel. Russians killed, shot, mocked civilians. These tragedies were near my city! Parents did not allow me and my younger brother to read the news in full. In June, my parents said that our Ukrainian army drove the Russians out of the North of Ukraine and we could return home. But at the same time, we agreed that we could leave home if the Russian invaders returned to the Kyiv region. Then in June there was a cinema camp. It was organized by the Ukrainian director Svsitlana Pohasiy. She evacuated to the UK and taught free classes from there. I, and other students of the film camp, received various tasks from her to create their projects. You just had to shoot your morning, your day or your evening. Answer the questions, what are you doing at the moment? I live in the 14th residential building and we do not have a bomb shelter. There is only a basement. It is not with two, but with one exit. It can overwhelm. nearest bomb shelter - Arsenalnaya metro station in Kyiv. You need to go 25 minutes by car. But when the air raid alarm goes off, you won't have time to get on the subway. And you can’t drive around the city at night. We have a curfew. After 23:00, the city is patrolled by the our ukrainian military. Therefore, during the alarm, we sleep in the corridor behind two walls. But this will not save from a rocket explosion. Russians are always sent to residential buildings, hospitals, kindergartens, schools. The trajectory of Russian rockets is such that it hits the upper floors. It's very scary. But at the same time, I try not to think about fears for a long time. I try to relax. That's why I draw a lot, read books, dance, swim (our pool has already started working again). And thanks to Svitlana Pohasiy (project curator) and her film camp, i made my first movie. As you saw, it turned out to be about my perception of the war. I took it off for those children who are far from Ukraine and may not even know that there is such a small country on the other side of the Earth in the middle of Europe. But our country really wants to survive and is trying to continue to learn, develop and resist these terrible Russians in every possible way.

Of course, my film is not perfect. Probably a lot of errors from a technical point of view. I shot it on a regular Android tablet and then edited it in Pinnacle Studio. But now, from my last acting fee (in August, a couple of productions returned and - hooray! - they offered roles in their projects!) I bought a real steadicam for my phone and tablet, which means that the next film will be better and better."
