You are what you eat. In a world where people start to look like the thing they eat the most of, you can take this quite literally. When a newcomer prefers different eating habits, the visible consequences turn the world upside down in a battle between desire and rationality.

MEAL ON THE PLATE

Luce lives a happy life in a peaceful little village with Mom and the Villagers. Every day is the same, just the way everyone likes it. The only thing that scares Luce is the dark, but luckily her little light sticks keep her safe! One day, a giant Rock Creature disturbs their quiet life in the village. He destroys all the houses, including Luce’s! Luce is angry and determined to send the Rock Creature back to his home, but the Rock might have more in common with Luce than she first thought.

On a beautiful sunny day in Northern Alberta, a river surrounded by green trees runs gently through the traditional lands of the Chipewyan Prairie Dene First Nation.As birds softly chirp, a father makes a tobacco offering to the river and reaches his hands below the water’s surface to pull out a caribou hide. Nearby, his young son watches. Today he will learn from his father how to make a caribou drum.
