As Máté celebrates the birth of his son, his mother Krisztina, an art teacher, gradually loses her sight due to complications from diabetes. Reluctant to show her vulnerability, she increasingly relies on Máté, who goes above and beyond to support her. As he grapples with the challenges of fatherhood, his mother’s deteriorating vision becomes an increasing burden. Proud yet ashamed of her blindness and dependence, Krisztina struggles to accept the help she needs. Their relationship becomes entangled in emotional dependency, yet remains deeply rooted in love. When Máté’s family is about to move abroad, he faces a difficult choice, while Krisztina fears being left alone in the darkness. A touching debut, balancing tenderness and humour in an intimate portrait of love and emotional dependence, anchored by outstanding performances from Anikó Für and Benett Vilmányi. Winner of Best New Film, Best Actress and Best Actor awards at the Beijing IFF 2026.
