Mima has grown up without her father, under the strict care of her mother, Boyka. When news of his death arrives and his body is returned to their village after many years, even those who knew him are no longer sure that they can recognise him. His return puts Mima and Boyka in a situation that neither of them expected to face. Boyka refuses to see the man she once loved, leaving Mima to face the situation alone.
