Salt, smoke, fish and forty years devoted to work. In the heart of Łeba, a Baltic seaside resort, Miecia – known locally as the ‘Queen of Łeba’ – runs a legendary fish smokehouse. More than a business, it has become a vital part of the local community and the centre of her world. Full of energy, character and sharp humour, she seems indestructible. But time is catching up with her. Health problems force her to slow down and confront a difficult question: who is she beyond the work that has defined her for decades? As the smokehouse’s future becomes uncertain, Miecia faces the possibility of losing the place that has given her purpose and identity. Against the backdrop of Łeba’s seaside folklore, a warm and bittersweet portrait emerges of a woman who has spent her life being needed by others and must now rediscover herself.

A film about passion, identity, the passage of time and the price of a life devoted to work – and about how hard it can be to learn to let go. With its warmth, humanity and sharp sense of humour, the film has become a real audience favourite, earning Audience Awards at goEast FF 2026 and Sopot FF 2025.
