Join us for a LIVE Q&A with star Elliot Frances Flynn ("Shoplifters of the World", "Mare of Easttown") and director Elizabeth Mehling.
Elliot Frances Flynn is an up and coming actress. This year, she made her feature film debut in Shoplifters of the World, made a ghostly appearance in Netflix's horror Things Heard & Seen, and appeared in HBO’s hit miniseries Mare of Easttown. On screen and in her work as a writer, Elliot explores themes of coming of age, sexuality and womanhood with honesty and enthusiasm. She is currently a finalist in the ATX Festival Pitch Competition.
Elizabeth Mehling is a filmmaker, animator, and editor currently living in New York State. She graduated with a BFA in Film from SUNY Purchase after writing and directing several short films. Her work primarily focuses on feminism, queer women, adolescence, and mental illness, which are often explored in a variety of formats, from animation and documentary, to experimental and poetic shorts. She is a big proponent of using 8mm film, stop motion, and analog aesthetics in combination with modern film technologies to bring stories into a collage-like space of anachronism and timelessness. “Memories Of Rain” had the distinction of winning the award for best senior film at SUNY Purchase, and has been a finalist and semi-finalist at several festivals both domestic and international.
