"Just a Little Longer" unfolds the story of Shani, a career-driven Ukrainian woman, and Diego, a Uruguayan single father, who serendipitously meet at a work conference despite hailing from opposite coasts. Their initial encounter sparks a connection. As they part ways and return to their separate lives, a bond begins to take shape, nurtured through text messages and late-night calls over the course of six months. The narrative takes an unexpected turn when Diego, grappling with his own emotional readiness, decides to pull away, leaving Shani ghosted and emotionally adrift. The film sheds light on the universal struggle of the fragility of human connections and the profound impact of timing on matters of the heart.
Director Biography - Daniela Mileykovsky
Daniela Mileykovsky is a director and cinematographer, working on narrative films, TV shows, commercials, and documentaries. She is also an ICG 600 camera operator. Daniela has worked on a number of projects for networks including National Geographic, Discovery, Netflix, and many more. She also worked as a cinematographer for notable directors such as Yvette Nicole Brown and Vivica Fox for a BET network series.
Born as a first-generation American to refugee parents from Uzbekistan, Daniela Mileykovsky faced the challenge of expressing herself verbally with English as a second language, despite harboring intense emotions and a rich inner world. Her childhood passion for 2D art evolved from drawing & painting to motion picture when, at the age of twelve, she was deeply moved by Darren Aronotsky's "Requiem For A Dream," sparking a profound interest in the transformative power of filmmaking. Since that pivotal moment, Daniela has dedicated herself to her life's mission: crafting narratives characterized by potent visual themes.
In her late teens she discovered improvisational jazz and drew inspiration from it as another source of non verbal communication. Daniela has blended these art forms into the lens through which she views the cinema world. Her goal is to capture the aura of each individual and their story in a cinematic analogy. Digging into visual and emotional research has been a major factor in her pre production process. The balance between planning and preparation, and the jazz of the unpredictable world has been the most exciting part of creating for Daniela whether she is working on documentaries, commercials, narrative film projects, or any other form of film making.
