Amidst the hysteria of the Red Scare in 1953 Chicago, a nightclub staff becomes entangled in a political scandal when their star performer's iconic red-and-gold pocket square becomes the focal point of media chaos.
Director Statement
Having grown up in the political landscape and media frenzy of Washington, D.C., I've witnessed firsthand the powerful influence of fear and propaganda on public opinion. My short film Live from The Geneva! delves deeply into these compelling forces by taking us on a journey to a pivotal and contentious time in American history: the Red Scare. However, the film doesn't just serve as a historical lesson; it acts as a mirror, reflecting and revealing the parallels between the fear-driven time period and our current socio-political climate.
