Director Biography - Aaron Wallace
Aaron Wallace is an innovative filmmaker whose career was shaped by his childhood passion for action and suspense films, particularly those directed by Brian De Palma, as well as the screenplays of Spike Lee. Inspired by these early influences, Aaron developed a talent for writing and began creating short films in his teens. In 1995, he co-wrote Common Bonds, the first feature film produced entirely by teenagers. Supported by legendary actor Robert Redford, the film received two special screenings at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival and was eventually distributed by Starz.
In 2003, Aaron founded Cineapse Pictures, a boutique production company that specializes in branded content tailored to urban audiences. His directorial debut, The Fall (2009), was screened at several prestigious film festivals, including the Hollywood Black Film Festival and Urbanworld, garnering attention for its compelling storytelling and high-production value. The story, inspired by the last track on the Notorious B.I.G.’s diamond certified debut, “Ready to Die” starred up and coming actor Mo McRae in a sexy, neo-noir thriller.
Over the years, Aaron has continued to develop and produce several independent projects, cementing his reputation as a versatile and visionary filmmaker. In 2024, he returned to his true passion for writing and directing with A World of Trouble, followed by his current project, White History Month, which is slated for release later this year.
