The Funeral is a story of a flamboyant and self-centered businessman who has a dark obsession. Himself. He wants to be loved, admired and adored by all. And he is dying to find out what people will say at his funeral.

Director Biography - Mansoor Ahmed

Mansoor Ahmed (Moonie) recently retired as the Division Director for Astrophysics at NASA, Goddard Space Flight Center. His day job involved shooting the stars in the heavens. In the evenings and weekends, he has been shooting the stars on Earth with his video camera. He has directed a feature-length film, Bhool. As a founding member of Storytellers, he has been involved in more than a twenty short films in various capacities.

Storytellers make the long story short. The Funeral is a Storytellers production. Storytellers is an amateur film making organization in the Washington National Capitol Region that develops unique story ideas into entertaining short films. It consists of a group of volunteer film enthusiasts who have come together to fulfill their passion, either behind or in front of the camera by creating short films. The members exercise their creativity in the end-to-end film making process, from a story idea to a polished film on the screen. And by doing so, enhance their appreciation and enjoyment of watching films in general

Director Statement

My passion for films can be traced back to my childhood days in Peshawar, Pakistan, where l lived across the street from the only English language cinema hall in the city, and became mesmerized by the world of film.

The idea for The Funeral stems from a normal human curiosity of what will people say at your funeral.
