Director Statement
I directed “Flesh and Blood”, a coming-of-age story told in a twisted setting where the character’s parents are serial killers. It is a horrific, yet ironic film about a high school senior making a life-changing decision on choosing his future career path. Through this film, I wanted to portray the experience I had in my high school years, when my parents were fairly uncertain about my future decision, which is going to film school. I can see the picture of my younger self in the main character, Terry Myers, who wants to pursue his dream of going to college. Even though this film features a frightening story told in a comical way, deep down it is a story of growing up and entering adulthood. The process of making this film was memorable, I love to see everyone working together on set to bring out the best results. I was blessed to have a productive crew full of talented and ambitious filmmakers.
