Las Camelias transforms a classic tragedy into a playful pandemic comedy set in 2020 Puerto Rico. In Las Camelias, legendary sex worker, Margarita Gautier, falls in love in the “wrong person at the wrong time.” So does Armando Vidal. Together, they risk everything, bringing chaos to their opposing worlds. Eventually forcing them to find common ground in their shared human experience. Las Camelias presents a seductive yet naive look at a story where all the characters meet and interpret with humor and frankness the atrocity of age discrimination, rejection, classism, sexual exploitation and LGBTQIA+ exclusion of society in general.
