An experimental exploration and celebration of the Juggalo subculture in Buffalo, New York. Long and static takes of Juggalos engaged in their favorite activities, first and foremost of which – causing mayhem.
"Man, I can hardly remember last week, but I will tell you I made this film in the hopes that Bryan Wendorf would like it, and he did. If he didn't, I would have been really depressed. I was thrilled to have the US premiere at CUFF.
One thing I love about CUFF is the audience, which is super adventurous and not strictIy composed of filmmakers and academics like some fests. I think it's a testament to the festival and its programming that a real core audience of non-film professionals comes out, and these are my favorite audiences.
When we premiered, I was very nervous about the screening because I wasn't even sure the film made sense. The screening seemed to go well. A few hours later, I was talking to some people at a bar. They were locals who just regularly came to the festival, just regular people who loved left field films. I asked one guy what he'd seen, and he said "I liked the Juggalo film a lot. I really wanted to hear the Q&A but I had another screening." It was clear he had no idea that I had made the film and he offered that up unprompted, so it just totally made my day to have someone say that off the cuff - just that one comment was worth as much as any good review or prize. I've actually thought about this moment many times in the last few years, because he was the first audience member who told me he liked the film. I didn't know his name, but I remembered him vividly - I recently found out that he passed away unexpectedly, so it seems fitting to say thank you here. Thank you Lenh!" - Scott Cummings
