Part travelogue, part philosophical mediation, Ark is a film about decadence and illusion. Set in the not too distant future, in a post-apocalyptic world, Ark melds lurid surrealist imagery with sardonic musings of anonymous passengers aboard a cruise ship at the end of the world.

"The cruise was two weeks long and I was there alone, filming non-stop. At first people thought I was a bit odd as I didn’t do much of anything on the ship, except film. I became known as ‘the camera girl’ and eventually some people started thinking I worked for the cruise company. I would get invited to private parties, summoned here or there, to take photos of people dressed up, enjoying themselves in various ways. And I just went with it. By the end of the trip, the actual crew was also impressed with my constant filming, and offered me a job onboard as a photographer. " - Lynne Siefert
