A Mess of Memories centers on a matriarch’s hoarding obsession, which threatens the family home and forces an estranged family into an emotionally charged reunion. Blending surrealist elements with grounded emotion, the film explores ancestral trauma, memory, and the path to healing as each character confronts their past and reclaims their future.

When siblings return home to save their mother from losing the family home to hoarding, they unearth long-buried wounds, and unexpected healing, for themselves and each other.

As a hardened grandmother's health deteriorates, her once-lively home falls into disrepair, mirroring her descent into death. Her increasingly frantic daughter struggles to care for her while the house itself becomes a malevolent force, revealing a dark secret tied to the grandmother's refusal to let go. As reality and the supernatural blur, they must confront the true horror: the fear of moving on.
