Growing up as a non-white Canadian, you experience racism every day. What makes Toronto's racism so unique, is that you almost don't notice it.

Canada's Unchecked Racism

Our inaugural project is Women of Faith: Coping with Trauma. This mental health documentary takes an in-depth look into the lives of four women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse, but who also triumphantly find joy, hope and peace through their faith in God and their community. We know it is a tough subject, but letâs have the tough conversation so women, children and families can find healing. Why this topic? Thousands of children of all different ethnicities are sexually abused every year in the United States. The topic is relevant after numerous claims of abuse have recently been in the news - from the #metoo campaign to USA Women's Gymnastics, Boy Scouts of America and the Catholic Church.

Women of Faith: Coping with Trauma

Set during the time of the Red Terror war in 1970's in Ethiopia, the country's political tyranny has created huge population of refugees searching for an escape. Based on a true story, Yene Fikir, Ethiopia, meaning My Love, Ethiopia, follows the turbulent and mystical journey of a young girl searching for freedom after being separated from her family. As she embarks on a painful migration through the scorching desert, magical guardian angels are sent to aid her by a mysterious and ancient Goddess in the skies, holding the secret to heal her homeland. With the presence of her angels, and the power of her magical krar, she discovers hidden powers within herself she was unaware of before.

My Love, Ethiopia

From the time we are young, girls are pressured into a set belief of beauty standards. Hair is certainly high on the list and is often labeled as our "crown and glory." Where does this notion fit for females with alopecia (the partial or complete absence of hair from areas of the body where it normally grows)?&nbsp; "I Am More Than My Hair", is a companion piece to the newly released book, of the same title. The documentary-style film features interviews with females who've experienced hair loss, due to a health-related condition and their journey of self-empowerment to see beauty beyond the media’s standards.
