Pre-recorded discussion featuring Nicol Ragland (Director), Corbett Jones (Director of Photography), and Anna Rau (Producer), moderated by Michele Garza (Senior Director of Special Events, KCET and PBS SoCal in Los Angeles).

Nicol Ragland has created imagery with an emphasis on cause driven storytelling that does not cause dispute but rather reconfigure who we are. An aesthetic meant to push boundaries and bridge difference. A long term photographic and film exploration into humanity’s relationship to culture and the wild, Nicol finds culture to be an accumulation of ideas where we explore ways of exploring. This infinite play is where she’s found the best terrain to collaborate, listen carefully and recognize expansion due to authoring and co-authoring. After having directed the film, FARMERS FOOTPRINT, she has continued in the growing movement of Regenerative Agriculture to document work from RCS Australia as well as black farming in Oklahoma. Currently she is building the non-profit REGENERATE OKLAHOMA - a statewide soil health initiative that seeks to advance the practices of regenerative agriculture.

Corbett Jones has acquired a profound understanding of the mechanics of a shoot and the experience to successfully shepherd projects from ideation to delivery. His freelance work has taken him around the world, creating commercial spots for clients such as Apple and Powerade. Most recent accolades include an Emmy for his work on KCET’s documentary Third LA, a Golden Mic for his cinematography on Tending Nature, and is currently working on a narrative adaptation of his documentary debut, All We Need Is Another Chance.

Anna Rau is a creative producer and co-founder of THE RANGE, a boutique production company with material ranging from branded content and commercials to documentary and narrative features. In addition to Trans Pecos, Rau is currently spearheading episodics ranging from womens’ reproductive rights to elite tactical airmen, and features of every kind in between. With a special regard for human interest stories, Rau is eager to get back on the open road with a camera in tow in 2021.

Michele Garza has worked in television and motion pictures for over two decades. She is Senior Director of Special Events for KCET and PBS SoCal in Los Angeles, and Founding Producer of the KCET Cinema Series and Earth Focus Environmental Film Festival. She has attended and participated in film programs and arts events throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Japan even longer.
