Young people are on the front lines of the battle for climate justice. Blending activism and education with music, film, and art, these shorts highlight young people on a mission to stand up for their future and make their voices heard.

Today’s youth are not waiting for the future to start actively raising awareness and inventing solutions to the world’s environmental challenges. As schools strive to create authentic learning experiences that emphasize real world problems and solutions, communicating about science plays an important role. For the last five years, several DC Public Schools and charter schools have participated in the 1-Minute Climate Change Filmmaking Project, which introduces teachers and students to the world of film and media arts as a tool to explore climate change. This is a selection of films created by elementary, middle, and high school students.
