An Introduction by the Curator: Peggy Parsons

DCEFF's Brad Forder speaks with this program's curator Peggy Parsons.

Shot over several years, focuses on the British land sculptor, Andy Goldsworthy and his work. Thomas Riedelsheimer observes Goldsworthy as he builds with exquisite care, his intricate sculptures in nature. Some are meant to last, while others are ephemeral: made from ice, leaves, stones or twigs. Goldsworthy blends the works -- a snakelike bolt of icicles, a series of egg-shaped structures, caravans of leaves joined with twigs as they float downstream - into the landscape around his home and studio in the village of Penpont, Scotland and around the world from Nova Scotia to Digne in France. Riedelsheimer’s beautiful camerawork captures the extreme physical and mental effort required on Goldsworthy’s part. A striking score by Fred Frith is more than equal to its task.
