To thank our hometown audience for 19 years of supporting WSFF, this screening will show a selection of Award Winning films catered to our Nevada County, CA audience. The films are a different selection from the other Award Winners session. Be the first to find out which film won our People's Choce award by tuning in when this session becomes available. This session requires a separate single session ticket unless you have the Watershed or Household pass.
Featuring: TranSending (9 min) | District 15 (23 min) | River's End (81 min)
Award Winner: Jury Award & People's Choice Award
Using California as a microcosm, River's End explores the global water crises. It draws the parallel between the draining of the Owens Valley by LA, made famous by CHINATOWN, and what is happening in real time in Northern California’s Bay-Delta. Except this time, the water grab is at the hands of Big Agriculture. River’s End implores viewers to learn where their water comes from so that we can save our rivers and the ecosystems and communities that depend upon them.
