In the middle of the night, before they are to be sent to a Japanese American Internment Camp, one family buries a secret in their backyard garden. 80 years later, a clue is discovered and what begins as a mystery soon turns criminal as a family of different minds try to come together to discover the truth of their past.

Paul Daisuke Goodman is a filmmaker and two time cancer survivor. He began his career as a camera operator on the high seas for Discovery’s Whale Wars until his first cancer diagnosis at age 25. For the next six years he would undergo treatments for his Leukemia that would achieve remission and then relapse and remission again. During that time, Goodman began writing and editing from his hospital room and would shoot films in his months as an outpatient.
Eventually, he was able to make his first feature film, Evergreen. It would take the coordination of his doctors and the production to complete the 28 day shoot that spanned from LA to Canada. Two days after wrapping, he was back in the hospital for more chemotherapy. After three years of treatments and having shot one feature film, he would finally have a sustained remission without chemotherapy and used this time to begin on his second project.
In late 2020, Goodman’s Leukemia would relapse at the height of the pandemic, this time spreading to his spinal cord and brain. The initial outlook was bleak and doctors rushed him into immediate intensive care. After the first rounds of chemotherapy, his prognosis began to improve and, with more treatment, eventually became eligible for a bone marrow transplant.
During this hospitalization, Goodman would write his second feature film, No No Girl. Through chemo, radiation, transplant and with the support of his community, he would find another remission and six months out from his bone marrow transplant, they would begin shooting No No Girl. Today, Paul lives in Los Angeles with his fiance and manages his own production company, Eight East Productions, named for the wing of the hospital where he made his first films.
