Chicago gun violence has made national headlines for decades. While the city responds with aggressive policing, two community members lead programs that attempt to change the conditions that produce violence in the first place—by investing in the young men most at risk of being a victim or perpetrator. The film journeys alongside three young men, Shamont, Zay and Charles, as they wrestle with their pasts and, with the guidance of their mentors, construct a better future for generations to come.

The screening is followed by a conversation featuring directors Bing Liu and Joshua Altman, and subjects Isaiah "Zay" Manning and William "Billy" Moore. Moderated by Arionne Nettles.
