This taut, riveting biopic examines the political life of Israel’s sixth prime minister whose 1977 election ended nearly three decades of Labor Party domination. A man of contradictions, Begin was on the “wanted” list during the British Mandate, signed a peace treaty with Egypt and advocated for the rescue of Ethiopian Jews. Through rare archival footage as well as current interviews with Israeli leaders, we see a multi-faced portrait of a complex man.

Join us on Sunday, April 15 at 7:00 PM, when SFSU Professor Eran Kaplan explores the legacy of the late PM Menachem Begin, who was also the leader of the Irgun prior to the establishment of Israel.
