This exquisitely filmed movie about finding your own way in life is enhanced by the off-the-charts chemistry between the two leads. Each year, an ultra-Orthodox French Jewish family visits a farm in Italy to harvest citrons. Here Elio meets Esther, the rabbi’s 26 year-old daughter, who feels trapped within the constraints imposed by her religion. Through this relationship, Esther will understand the importance of freedom, and Elio, who gave up being an artist to take care of his late father’s farm, will find the peace he had lost.
