A tour de force! This superbly acted, gripping drama jumps out from the headlines. An accusation of rape is brought against Alexandre Farel, the 22 year-old scion of a divorced, Parisian power couple. He maintains his innocence while on trial for raping Mila Wizman, the daughter of his mother’s new boyfriend. The director has us experience each party’s memory of what occurred and then puts us in the jury box to consider the verdict. Under scrutiny are the power dynamics of sexual relationships; how we perceive our own actions, and the thin line between morality and legality. Warning: Scenes of a sexual nature and strong language.
