An aging wine-grower in the South of France must choose whether to let his talented elder son go away to middle school or remain on the farm to help him scratch out a living. Industrialization has come to rural France in the form of a shiny red tractor owned by "Louis, the Father's" neighbor. Louis is a traditionalist who uses his horse to till the fields and collect lumber for firewood, but work is becoming more difficult and he looks forward to the day his son will takeover. French filmmaker Christophe Switzer transports you to 1962 rural France in this beautifully produced, contemplative film that that explores the choices parents make for their children.
