TÆPS is a safe haven for all, and presents the best beer in town. TÆPS and FAF welcome you to combine late-night drinks with some excellent animated short films, on Thursday evening after the Opening Ceremony. The programme includes short films which explores topics like sexual orientations, gender identity, and diverse representations. These films are suitable to watch together over a drink, and might also awaken your senses and thoughts – all in good spirits and remembering that diversity is what unites us. Age limit: 20

The transformation of the over masculine Minotaur, inspired by Picasso's print series 'Vollard Suite', leads to the destruction of boundaries of sexes. Chaerin Im (b. 1994 in Seoul) is an experimental filmmaker from South Korea who explores gender issues and sexual imagery with the use of craftsmanship and distinctive materials. She graduated from Seoul National University’s Visual Communication Design B.A. program (2017) and earned an MF.A. degree from the CalArts Experimental Animation MFA program (2020). Her films have been accepted to various widely-known festivals such as Annecy, DOK Leipzig, Hiroshima, and Slamdance.

Eyes and Horns

The music video for the song I Could Never Live Without You By My Side, by the Berlin-based techno group FJAAK, tells the story of one night in a Berlin techno club. Two lovers on a drug-induced trip with a fatal ending. During this trip, they meander through different surreal spaces of their shared past and their distorted memories of those events. Raman Djafari is an illustrator, animator and filmmaker working in both 2D and 3D, currently living in Berlin, Germany. Through colourful imagery and fragmented narratives he is hoping to reach into a realm of honest emotions and wilful fragility, creating surreal worlds and characters that oscillate between the familiar and the fantastical. Currently, he is represented as a director by the London-based animation studio Blink Ink.Daniel Almagor is a visual artist, director, and writer whose work includes music videos, short movies, theater plays, and exhibitions.

FJAAK - I Could Never Live Without You By My Side

A deliciously dark comedy about a husband and wife whose different ideas of gender conformity lead to an unexpected confrontation. Job, Joris & Marieke is a Dutch studio for animation, illustration, character design, and music. Their work can be described as cute, funny, poetic, and sometimes disturbing. The studio was founded in 2007 in Utrecht by Job Roggeveen, Joris Oprins en Marieke Blaauw. They work on commercials, educational projects, music videos, and short films. The music for all their work is composed by Happy Camper, an award-winning music project by Job. And obviously, in their turn, the studio creates all the music videos for Happy Camper.

A Double Life

It's not so easy to be a hero. But you, Pentola, you are my superhero. Leo Černic (b .1995, Trieste) is an author of short animated films, madly in love with small independent film production and humble, sincere artists. He graduated in film and television directing from the Academy of Theater, Radio, Film and Television, Ljubljana. Then he continued his studies in animation at the Experimental Center of Cinematography, Piedmont branch in Turin. In his films he always tries to capture the stories about losers and their dreams, perhaps he recognises himself as one of them.

When Paris is Burning meets Hieronymous Bosch. A dip, a death drop is when a dancer strikes a pose and dramatically falls on one’s back. The story follows Shesa Quinn dipping from the top of a skyscraper. Gagged by her stunt, the townsfolk below spiral into chaos. Will Shesa land a perfect dip?
