The techniques stretch from good old stop-mo and multiplane to new and creepy ways to use 2D animation and it all ends up in a flashy and at the same time grotesque 3D animation. But it’s not as frightening as it all sounds, the programme has a good portion of humour, often very dark.

The movement of slime mold is combined with pattern subjects selected from Karelian thread blankets. Slime molds are primitive Amoebozoa organisms that can move even though they do not have a brain or nervous system. The poem heard in the background expresses themes of time, circulation, and decomposing.
Leena Pukki (b.1984) is a visual artist interested in cultural hegemonies, interspecies relations, history, utopias, emotions, and power relations. Pukki's techniques range from media art to large-scale wall paintings and installations. Pukki graduated with an M.A. in art from Aalto University's School of Arts and Design in 2015 and a visual arts degree from Lahti Art Institute in 2007.
