Animation creates a magical world for all ages, and the Kindergarten Program is maybe the most magical place you can enter. As the most important of the audience segment of Fredrikstad Animation Festival, a program for the smallest of us is curated to accommodate their demand for good quality stories and artistic animated films. The program for kindergarten can also push boundaries for the adult audience and gives an artistic view on issues like inclusiveness, motherhood and identity. Big questions that are a never ending discussion, so why not start early?
Andulis, the little bat, wakes up at the wrong time and discovers that he, unlike his fellow bats, loves sunlight and warmth. After making friends with Little Mouse who looks almost like him, Andulis is surprised to find out that unlike in the bats house everything is not upside down in Little Mouse’s house.
Dace Rīdūze (born 1973 in Cesis, Latvia) From 1988-1992 Rīdūze studied at the Applied Art Secondary School followed by studies at Riga Pedagogical and Educational Highschool as a school theater director and teacher of art. In 2001 Rīdūze received an M.A. at Latvian Academy of Pedagogy and Psychology. In 1997 Rīdūze started working at Film Studio Animacijas Brigade ltd. as an animator, and since 2000 they have also been a film director.
