In a God-fearing village lying between two rivers, giving birth to a fachuk — an illegitimate child — is a mortal sin. Everyone in the village recoils from the young pregnant woman who is about to give birth at any moment. In this narrow-minded and harsh rural environment, fear grows inside her. Maida Srabović (1986, Koprivnica) completed her studies in film and TV editing at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. After graduating, she worked as a freelance editor for several years, editing numerous films and TV formats. In 2018, she co-founded the animation and postproduction studio TETRABOT in Zagreb. Ploo blends attributes of vector graphics and screen display technology with the human condition. Jon was born 1979 in Stade, Germany to American parents. After being awarded his Diploma in Communications Design from the HAW Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, he worked as Art Director with Scholz und Friends Berlin. Since 2006, he has been a freelance animation director. His short film CAT DAYS/NEKO NO HI premiered at the 2018 Berlinale, was internationally acclaimed and qualified for the Academy Awards. His short film ZOOPTICON, an animated musical collaboration with Thies Mynther and Sandra Trostel, has received numerous international awards and deals with almost every topic the filmmakers could think of. Jon also works for German televions networks. He writes and animates for the political satire show “extra3” (ARD) and acts as showrunner for the WDR production “OhneTitel3000”. Jon lives in Hamburg, Germany.

When every global citizen is required to have their CO2 emissions tracked, it makes little impact…that is, until they discover the consequences of reaching their designated QUOTA. Job, Joris & Marieke is an animationstudio from Utrecht. Job Roggeveen, Joris Oprins en Marieke Blaauw got to know each other during their studies at the Design Academy Eindhoven. In 2007 they founded their studio. They make short films, music videos and commissioned work. Their films are known for their tragicomic and absurd stories, crowded by characters, who are designed in their simple and iconic style. And all their films have a catchy yet melancholic soundtrack. All these things combined is the world of Job, Joris & Marieke. In 2013 they released their film MUTE. Their second short film, A Single Life, was nominated for an Oscar in 2015, in the category ‘best animated short’. Since then the studio is focused on making short films. In 2015 their short film (Otto) had it’s première on the prestigious TIFF festival in Canada and was nominated for a Rockie Award. In 2016 they made their 21 minute short film Kop Op (Heads Together) in co-production with Viking Film and VPRO. This film was awarded with an International Emmy Kids Award in 2019 in the category animation. The film was also nominated for the Prix de Jeunesse, a Rockie Award, and a Cinekid Kinderkast. In 2018 thet made the short film A Double Life, which was nominated for a Golden Calf at the Netherlands Film Festival. In 2022 the studio presents the series Kop Op (Swop) which was based on the film Kop Op. They also got to open their first big solo exhibition A Triple Life at the Kunsthal Rotterdam. Their films and music videos won over 75 awards and were screened on over 300 filmfestivals around the globe.

Their work has qualified for the 96th Academy Awards, BAFTA and Goya Awards – winning the Uppsala Award in Memory of Ingmar Bergman, as well as other awards such as the ZINEBI Grand Award and the ENCOUNTERS Animation Grand Prix. Their films have premiered several times at the Annecy International Animation Festival.

24 February 2022 my boyfriend and I fled from Kyiv to Irpin. We spent 10 days in blockaded city and managed to escape with the last evacuation convoy. Time passed, but the feeling that I died in Irpin never left me since then. The film reconstructs this true story of survival through a personal and subjective lens. Anastasiia Falileieva was born in 2000 in Kremenchuk, Ukraine. She studied stop-motion animation and directing at the Kiyv National I.Karpenko-Kary theatre, cinema and television University. Through audio recordings taken in the field and poetic moving images, the film portrays activists who use food as a tool in their anti-consumerist struggle. In 2019, Zinia Scorier and Marie Royer completed their animation studies at Albert Jacquard in Belgium by co-directing the short film "Immersion" with Mathis Dubrul. Since then, Zinia and Marie gravitate around Brussels and St Quirin (fr) to give life to their first short film Mealitancy (Plat de résistance).

A clay sculpture comes to life in the darkness of a workshop, surrounded by strange creatures... Born in 1991, in Italy Matteo Burani is an Italian stop motion director. His experience in the field began when he founded Studio Croma in 2010. He began his career in animation as a self-taught puppet maker and character designer working on several stop motion projects over the years. Experimenting with different artistic languages in the field of animation, he began his career as a director by directing various videoclips, commercials and short films. Currently he is responsible for the puppet department supervision, the direction and the screenwriting of Studio Croma's projects. French Né en 1991, en Italie. Playing God

States of Matter is an experimental strata-cut animation crafted entirely from wax and paper. Drawing inspiration from Oskar Fischinger's pioneering wax experiments of the 1920s, the film emerged from the director's creative explorations during his postgraduate studies. In the process, solid sculptures were shaped from liquid wax, only to be systematically broken down and reanimated. The resulting highly magnified macro animations are complemented by a tactile soundscape highlighting the materials' intricate details, textures, and movements. Marvin is an experimental animator from Germany. Influenced and inspired during his undergraduate creative media studies in Hong Kong, he pursued a master’s degree in animation in the Netherlands, where he recently graduated. During this, he focused on exploring and expanding the field of strata-cut animation.
