In this sexually frank portrait of lust and vulnerability, a mother falls into an addictive relationship with a married Russian diplomat, with whom she has nothing in common outside of their sexual chemistry. The affair threatens to upend her life and leaves her questioning the price must pay in succumbing to an all-consuming desire.

A man and a woman are brought together by chance for several months. He is younger than she is, married, Russian, officially a diplomat stationed in Paris. She is a beautiful teacher and researcher, with her feet firmly on the ground. The film follows the evolution of their love, from the beginning to end.
