Divorced many years ago Will and Mim are no longer in touch. But when they are the only two people who turn up to an afternoon screening of their favourite film they are prompted to reminisce about how they used to escape to the movies. Will their romance rekindle? No. Instead they share a welcome moment of nostalgia and a chance to say goodbye. A bittersweet drama about the power of cinema to create human connection and the stories and people we leave behind.

RETROSPECTIVE

In the late 90s, Emilie, a 17-year-old girl, lives with her mother in the suburbs of Paris. One evening, she goes with her best friend to a neighborhood party several kilometers away from their home. Her father is supposed to pick them up. However, upon arriving, he discovers a crowd that doesn't suit him and explodes in anger. He will only take Emilie home. Worried about her friend, she decides to go back and fetch her. With the help of her mother, she will spend part of the night trying to find her. This event will be an opportunity for her to reassess her relationship with her father.

HARD TO SWALLOW

Isabelle is suffering from a severe eating disorder and has a history of anorexia. One morning she sneaks out for her usual compulsory training and runs further and further into the forest. The destructive thoughts consume her and she trains harder and harder until there is nothing left. When she lies down, all the emotions come. Sadness, grief, anger. She moves through the mossy area, processing everything through dance. Moments later she finds a lake and under the surface she is hit by memories. Nice memories, from her childhood, but also horrible ones, from the days when she was the most sick. She realizes how she is treating herself and resurfaces to make a change.

Lost in the middle of the countryside, Siham is desperate in finding this damn party. In the back, Marguerite and Arthur, 15 and 8 years old, are determined to make her live a hell. In this rolling crisis cell, the tension goes crescendo. Elsewhere... in a gymnasium transformed into a meeting room, a mysterious gathering is holding.

Free-spirited Simone gets a surprise knock at her door one evening. Turns out she has run afoul of the F.L.A.G. Act, a new (fictional … really) law that prohibits the flying of “provocative” flags. Simone coolly defends her right to free speech, including the flying of a rainbow flag. The porch-side conflict escalates beyond annoyance to absurdity, with Simone’s sass remaining intact to the end.
