The Presentation Sisters and Sisters of Mercy of St. John’s, Newfoundland are mostly invisible to the public eye. The vast majority of the sisters are elderly women, and they’ve given up looking for new recruits. The Incredible Vanishing Sisters follows the lives of present-day nuns in a closed institution that widely remains a mystery to the general public — and one that may soon close its doors forever.
